Getting to the HEART of Child Sexual Exploitation

In 2011 Coreplan UK was commissioned by the Metropolitan Police Service in partnership with Newham, Waltham Forest and Lewisham Local Authorities to develop The HEART programme, a twelve-week targeted prevention programme promoting healthy relationships in schools, with the aim of reducing the risk of girls going on to become victims of sexual violence and sexual exploitation. The HEART contract has been delivered in partnership with the community-based agency Foundation 4 Life, who has been responsible for the operational rollout of the programme in twelve schools simultaneously across three pilot boroughs. Foundation 4 Life has been able to provide The HEART Programme with a passionate work force made up of young women between the ages of nineteen and thirty who come from the same communities as the programme participants, and who are motivated to support young girls in precisely the ways they themselves were not supported when growing up. Aside from the flawless and informative contributions from the speakers who kept us engaged with a mix of humour, insight and strategic vision, the audience was given more than enough space to air their views.  In fact there were more than a few full and frank exchanges between the speakers and Book Now «»
